MEDIA & press
Stories, commentary and conversations about life, change, confidence, solo experiences and what comes next.

What I talk about
I help people who want to make a change work out how to start.
My own working life has taken me through finance, teaching, running a tuition business, systems training and writing. I’ve also lived and worked in different countries, travelled alone and changed direction when something no longer fitted.
I write and speak about career change, solo travel, doing things independently, remote working, midlife and starting again. I tend to talk about the practical side too: money, timing, confidence and how an idea could actually work in your life.

ITV News | The Guardian | The Telegraph | Stylist | Metro | Euronews | Refinery29 | Verywell Mind | UK Health Radio
I’ve been interviewed on television, radio and in the national press, and my writing has appeared in HuffPost, Carefree Magazine and Thrive Global.
ITV News | midlife, remote work and location freedom
I joined ITV News as a digital nomad and traveller to talk about slow travel, remote working and spending part of the year living and working overseas.
We also talked about what that can look like in midlife, when work, income and everyday responsibilities still have to fit around it.
Core speaking and commentary topics
Stop waiting for the plus-one
Why we can end up missing trips, events and experiences because nobody else is free, and how to start doing more things on your own.
“I am a wasted talent here”: when work no longer fits
I once put those exact words in an email to my manager. It led to a promotion. I can talk about career change, recognising when work no longer suits you and what happens when you finally say it out loud.
Remote work from somewhere beautiful
I’ve worked remotely from Tenerife, the Caribbean and elsewhere. I can talk about the good bits and the less photogenic ones, including long hours, burnout and the practicalities of working while travelling.
You matter, whatever your circumstances
Single Important Person® started with a V.I.P. banner in a supermarket. I talk about why being single, out of work or short of money shouldn’t mean putting your whole life on hold.
